What is the Community Hub?

The Community Hub is over 9000 square feet of community spaces being constructed as a part of the new Delia School. The Community Hub has a total cost of $1.2 Million, and is 100% funded by the community. These shared community and school spaces allow for the whole community to come together, providing accessible and inclusive spaces for everyone to play, learn and grow.

The shared spaces include the:
  • Fieldhouse: 6500 sq. ft. dedicated to healthy bodies & physical activity
  • Library: 1290 sq. ft. dedicated to learning & connecting
  • Wellness & Flex-Space: 1600 sq. ft. dedicated to community programs & fitness

When will the Hub be built?

The Delia Community Hub will be built as a part of the new Delia School facility being constructed by Alberta Infrastructure. Currently, we are expecting the Community Hub to be operational in 2020.

Who is building the Hub?

The Hub will be constructed as a part of the announced Alberta Education project scheduled for 2019/20. Alberta Infrastructure is acting as Project Manager.

This allows the community to capitalize on lower construction and project costs, while ensuring the community spaces built will be well-used and accessible to all members of the community.

How will the Hub be operated?

The Hub will be independently accessible to the community both in and outside of school hours. Prairie Land Regional Division (PLRD) will be operating the larger facility the Hub is located within. PLRD has committed to ensuring the Hub meets the community's needs for spaces, programs and access.
